Our Flagstone is a blend of two high-iron content clays, ball clays and other materials to achieve plasticity and strength. Additions of grog reduce shrinkage and warping while giving the clay body the ability to hold its shape in forming operations. We have been making Flagstone for many years with great results, and it is one of our most popular clays designed for use on the wheel and hand building projects. Its color is medium brown in reduction and light brown in oxidation kiln atmospheres.
